This is the year I created when no one was watching. When I took a step back and really asked myself who I wanted to be, what I wanted to focus on, and what I wanted to represent.
I feel like this gift guide is a good representation of that. The list is shorter than previous years, and that’s probably a direct reflection of me attempting to declutter my own life.
My sentiment remains the same: I want to showcase items that are unique, actually useful, and spark joy, with an emphasis on small businesses. There are an overwhelming amount of gift ideas out there, but I want to focus on ones that make our lives better, not on things we recycle or forget about the next year.

Have a writer friend? Idk about them, but I cannot work with any sort of background noise. Plop these on and viola, goodbye distractions.
What about your friend that loves to travel? These are perfect for blocking out the hustle and bustle—or the guy on the airplane watching a show on their phone full volume (rude!).
I personally like Bose. The padding is super comfortable and the volume control offers a great variety of sound levels. Depending on where I am/what I’m doing, I like that I can switch between wired and Bluetooth.
Cozy Pajamas
We writers are used to used to working from home in our pajamas—even from bed. I have noticed though, there’s a difference in productivity when I wear my stained sweatpants with the hole in the leg vs when I wear a cute matching set.
